Bisate Lodge
Location
Just a short drive from the park headquarters – where daily gorilla treks set out – it lies around three hours from Kigali by road, or can be reached by helicopter to nearby Musanze.
Accommodation
Each ensuite villa is warm and intimate, shaped by a thoughtful layout that includes a reception area, a luxurious bedroom, and a spacious bathroom, all gathered around a central fireplace that glows through the cool mountain evenings. The architecture draws inspiration from Rwandan royal palaces, using local materials and traditional forms to create a space that feels both contemporary and deeply rooted in culture.
Communal areas continue this sense of crafted harmony, with soft furnishings, curated Rwandan art, and generous fireplaces creating spaces that feel nurturing and serene. Bisate Kwanda, the lodge’s additional luxury lounge, offers a restful haven for early arrivals or late departures, complete with showers, dining, and quiet corners for reflection.
Dining is refined yet soulful, with menus shaped by seasonal Rwandan produce and served in spaces that feel both elegant and homely. The wellness centre, The Sanctuary, elevates the experience further, offering a heated saltwater pool, steam room, ice bath, yoga area, gym, and soothing treatment rooms for complete rejuvenation.
