Location
The park is also home to in excess of 80 black rhinoceros which have been relocated from other parks. In the water are large pods of snorting, yawning hippopotamus and crocodiles, while all around you can see some of the species of beautiful birds, numbering over 400, which inhabit the Kariba area, including Pel's Fishing Owl, Western Banded Snake Eagle and Lilian's Love Birds.
Accommodation
In the main area of the lodge, the tranquility continues. There’s a bar and open dining area, plus a viewing deck where you can relax with a cool drink, watching the world go by and admiring the sparkling waters of the lake. When the temperatures begin to rise, dip your toes into the infinity pool, again perfectly placed for lake views, or head to the wellness spa and indulge a treatment or two. A fully equipped gym is on-site too, for guests who still have some energy to burn.
- Get up close and personal to all the big game in the area, covering lots of ground and seeing multiple parts of the conservancy on a game drive.
- Explore on foot on a walking safari where you can concentrate on the smaller flora and fauna so often missed on game drives and even track rhino on foot through the bush!
- If you’re a keen birder, or simply want to see the landscape and wildlife from a different perspective, try a boating safari.
- Dine safari style and up high, looking down from the hills onto Lake Kariba, or even on a sandy island in the middle of the lake.
- Spend some time in local villages, gaining an understanding of the ancient traditions of the area and learning more about the way of life for communities who are reliant on this environment for their livelihood.
- Younger family members can enjoy a host of child-friendly, immersive activities including nature walks and cooking.
- Enjoy a picturesque cruise at sunset with a cold drink in hand and, once darkness falls, follow with a star-gazing experience back at the lodge.

From mysterious baobab groves, to the arid sands of Hwange, the balancing rocks of Matobo, and the awesome Zambezi River as it rages over Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe is a country that serves up all that could be hoped for in an African holiday destination.
There are few other safari destinations that offer the sheer diversity of landscapes that Zimbabwe does. The cascading waters of Victoria Falls and forested banks of the Zambezi River contrast with the arid open plains of Hwange and the rugged mountain terrain of Matusadona. Together, they create a completely unique safari experience.
