Germany originally negotiated the Caprivi Strip in the late nineteenth century as part of a route linking the west and East Coast of Africa via the Zambezi River. The aim was frustrated by the existence of the Victoria Falls. The area is one of wooded savannah grassland and supports a wide range of animals and superb bird life.
Bedroom Lianshulu Lodge Caprivi Strip
Located within the Mudumu National Park Lianshulu Lodge accommodates guests in ten huge suites, each with comfortable furniture and a well equipped en-suite bathroom. Surrounded by jackalberry and mangosteen forest and facing out across the vast Kwando River the lodge is reminiscent of a tented Botswana camp.
There are a wide selection of activities available from Lianshulu game drives conducted by open vehicle, walking safaris and boat cruises on the crocodile infested river, all under the supervision of expert guides. While it would be unlikely to see any predators here, savannah species such as elephant, wildebeest, zebra and waterbuck abound and are regularly seen.
