Travel Well

Travel to the world’s fragile places should benefit the habitats, the wildlife and the people who live there. We call this “Travelling Well” and it is a feature of every safari we arrange.

Travelling Well means you have an amazing time in the world’s most beautiful places! It means us stretching every sinew to create a superb sequence of places and experiences that is exactly right for you. The whole process must be stress free and in the unlikely event of a disruption we fix it immediately.

It also means fighting to protect these fragile places. The way we do this is simple but effective:

  • We work with people who share our values

  • We offset the carbon footprint of every holiday we arrange

  • We make it easy for you to see the positive impacts of your holiday

  • We encourage you to get involved

  • We donate a minimum of 10% of net profit to charity each year

We offset the carbon footprint of every holiday we arrange, including a generous estimation, not just of your international flights, but every element of your trip.

Our donations throughout 2020 and 2021 will support clean stove initiatives across Africa. These initiatives support positive changes for our planet, its people and wildlife. Clean stoves reduce carbon emissions, reduce the demand for wood as an inefficient fuel and lowers the cost to families living in poverty of feeding themselves.

Africa’s remote places and wildlife are under constant threat from poaching, encroachment and climate change. We favour lodges which actively conserve the land and its wildlife. This requires dynamic partnerships with local communities which leads to them benefiting significantly from wildlife conservation.

We include details of initiatives run by each property you will visit in your travel itinerary, so that you can see the positive impact of your stay. Our team would also be delighted to discuss ways you can get more involved.

We and our partners support Pack for a Purpose. Our clients often ask if they might take items with them to give to a school, village or hospital. We recommend that before you travel you visit www.packforapurpose.org which includes details of supplies needed by community projects in the areas you are visiting. Our partners will ensure that your gifts reach their final destination.

Through our Travel Well Policy we can help to support a wide variety of projects across Africa.

To help protect the amazing places we send our clients to, we donate 10% of our net profits each year to charitable conservation projects.

We also work alongside charities that are dedicated to protecting endangered species, providing environmental education to local children and ensuring human-wildlife coexistence is sustained.

Send a Cow and Tusk are two charities close to our hearts. You can read about their incredible work through the links.

We are always delighted when you suggest to friends that they contact us about their travel arrangements.

When a friend books a holiday with us, as a token of our appreciation we will give them £500 ($700) off the price of their holiday. We will also give you a referral gift of £500 ($700). This can be used against future travels or, tell us about a cause close to your heart and we will make a cash donation in your name.
