Owner-Run Private Safari Lodge
Charl and Marie Brink oversee all the arrangements at Chitwa Chitwa and you feel more like guests in their home than visitors to a safari lodge. The suites are beautifully furnished and decorated in a bright airy style with bleached floorboards and outside decking. The quality of the accommodation is among the finest of any private reserve in the Kruger.
Family Accommodation in the Charlsy Suite
The Charlsy suite is the perfect accommodation for families offering two en-suite bedrooms linked by a shared lounge area. The expansive deck in front of the suite also has a private pool and affords magnificent views out across to the lake in front of the lodge, a constant attraction for wildlife. Using this suite you also have full access to other facilities at the lodge and dine in the main dining lodge or the semicircular boma, where guests sit around a roaring fire encountering tales of the day’s adventures.
Space for Groups in the Chitwa House
There is also the Chitwa House, a large suite with two bedrooms, each with en-suite bathroom and a lounge which comes complete with its own private safari guide and vehicle making this perfect accommodation for families or groups of friends. Guests using this suite also have full access to other facilities at the lodge and can choose to dine in their suite or in the main dining lodge or the semicircular boma.
Extraordinary and Personal Safari Experience
Chitwa Chitwa’s expert guides will take you on safari by open vehicle both during the day and at night when nocturnal creatures can be seen including aardvark and leopard on the prowl. The guides will also take you on exciting walks when they will be armed. These can be fascinating experiences as you track animals through the bush, reach out and touch things, look at tracks and feel at one with your surroundings. You might spend half an hour standing next to seven foot high termite mound as he explains its intricate workings, all operated by literally millions of these tiny creatures which operate ten to fifteen feet below ground.
