Under canvas safari tents in Damaraland
The camp accommodates guests in one of eight Meru-style tents each with en-suite bathroom, flush toilet and classic safari shower that is filled with hot water on request. The main tented lounge and dining areas are very comfortable and designed to offer panoramic views over the bewildering vastness of the Damaraland plains. Evening meals are taken around the fire pit, in front of the lapa, and there is a swimming pool.
Track rhinos with expert guides
Desert Rhino Camp is supported by the 'Save the Rhino Trust'. The trust has been heavily involved in ensuring that the rare desert adapted black rhino survived the hunting in the 80’s and 90’s to flourish and grow. The reserve now boasts the largest concentration of rhino roaming outside of a National Park. One of the more specialist activities you can enjoy will be to learn more about this fascinating and still endangered species from the knowledgeable SRT team, whilst tracking them via game vehicle and on foot.
