A mobile family safari camp
Footsteps Camp is a true mobile bush camp experience, set up exclusively for you. The luxury here is your personal guide, chef and tailored activities—just for your family. There are three double tents, so if you’re travelling with teens, there’s plenty of space and privacy for everyone. One tent can be converted for five people to share, if you’d prefer. Your chef will serve up delicious meals in the open-flame bush kitchen to suit every appetite. You’ll have everything you need, including en suite bathrooms and comfortable furnishings.

The experience here is entirely your own. If you’d like a more mobile and intrepid safari, ask us about Footsteps Across the Delta. Each day you’ll walk and explore together, your guide teaching you all the skills you need to survive in the bush. Each night your camp will be set up in a new spot, providing a new perspective. For a more subdued option, choose the Young Explorers programme. You’ll enjoy all the same tracking activities, but with less walking, perfect for littler legs.

Exploring the Delta
The Okavango Delta is a haven for wildlife and there are many ways to explore. You’ll have your own vehicle for day and night drives, taking you further afield to see the most wildlife. Walking gives you a microscopic view of the intricacies of this incredible wetland ecosystem. It’s on foot that you’ll learn to distinguish footprints and spoor each morning to see which creatures stopped by in the night. Depending on water levels, you can take to the azure waterways in a mokoro, learning to pole your way through the reedy wilderness.

Combine with a luxury safari lodge
Footsteps is a fun and rugged adventure and contrasts splendidly with the luxuries of sister camps across Botswana. In the Delta, Okuti is our favourite to combine with, but Shinde and Kanana are also options. We also recommend combining this lush landscape with the semi-arid deserts of the Kalahari, staying at Dinaka Camp. Speak to our safari experts. They’ll listen to your preferences and craft the perfect itinerary for you.
