Fregate Private Island

This private island is only approximately three-square kilometres in size and is the most remote and secluded of the Seychelles granite islands. With fine sand beaches and tropical jungle, the island is almost completely untouched by tourism while an ongoing commitment to conservation is one of Frégate’s main priorities. It is home to several rare species flora and fauna including magpie robins, aldabra giant tortoises, Hawksbill turtles and flying foxes.
16 exclusive villas provide a maximum of 40 guests with views overlooking the beaches and security and seclusion within the natural beauty of a tropical island setting. Decorated sympathetically, the villas blend harmoniously with their surroundings. Each villa has a living room, a large bedroom and two bathrooms. Hand carved wood, rare antiques and Asian artwork gives a personal touch. A private sun terrace allows guests to spend their days and evenings outside. No outside visitors or day guests are allowed on the island, thereby guaranteeing ultimate privacy for the duration of your stay.
The main restaurant serves gourmet cuisine and is located in the centre of the resort, and has breathtaking views of the ocean. The historical 'Plantation House' serves Creole delicacies and island specialities, while you can also dine in the privacy of your own villa or at the Beach Bar.
There are two freshwater swimming pools, integrated into a natural rock basin, but if guests prefer there are seven beaches for swimming, snorkelling, scuba diving and a variety of other water sports. A fully equipped gym and a large library are available to all guests, while helicopter or light aircraft flights can be organised to appreciate the magnificence of the island from the air. Shady paths lead throughout the island, which can be explored along the coast or straight through the tropical jungle, and guest can discover the exotic fauna and flora of the island.
