Luxury on Lake Malawi
The lodge consists of eleven stone and teak framed thatched cottages set into a granite headland. There are three standard rooms, four premium rooms, two houses ideal for groups of friends or older families and two family houses which are perfect for those with younger children.
Fine Dining and Pampering
The dining room, perched on top of a scenic peninsular allows guests to enjoy breathtaking views over the mountains and wilderness of Mozambique to one side and Malawi to the west. It combines local and western cuisine with a choice of dining areas, inside or on the open-air deck. When you feel the need for a sundowner, the bar is set next to a stunning freshwater rock pool fed by a waterfall beside which guests can sit to cool off. For those in need of a little pampering, Decleor Spa treatments can be enjoyed in the Spa room perched above the crystal clear waters of the lake.
Exhilarating Lake Activities
Guests can enjoy excellent snorkelling and diving among the coral gardens growing around the bay, and can also go boating and on guided bird watching trips. Kaya Mawa is also the only location on Lake Malawi that offers exhilarating kite surfing. The adventures continue on land where you can explore the island by mountain bike, quad bike or on foot enjoying its beauty and unusual history, which led in the early 20th century to the construction of a gigantic Anglican cathedral.
