Sandibe Okavango Safari Lodge is one of the premier lodges in Botswana. Its uniquely designed wooden rooms have been inspired by the reclusive pangolin, with its body armour of overlapping scales. They blend perfectly into the surrounding trees, with curved roofs, high interiors and wide windows that let in plenty of light. Elevated off the ground, each suite is furnished to a very high standard and each has excellent facilities including an en-suite bathroom, an outdoor shower and a separate dressing area.
The main area of the lodge comprises a lounge and dining room, an elevated library where you can find a good selection of books about African wildlife and flora and a viewing deck with wonderful views over the Delta. There is also a beautiful outdoor dining area under large trees where guests can dine out under the African sky, and a cosy massage sala for extra pampering.
The Sandibe Private Reserve is a vast region of beautiful grassland and forest irrigated by shallow meandering waterways and due to its diverse habitats is home to an excellent variety and number of animals. With the vast open plains surrounding the lodge activities are focussed on exciting day and night game drives in search of the high concentration of big game on the concession. This part of the Okavango offers superb game viewing as elephants, giraffe and thousands of antelope, herds of buffalo and big cats including lion, leopard and cheetah are attracted all year round by the permanent waters, open plains and abundant vegetation. As well as larger animals, many smaller creatures such as baboon, warthog and spectacularly beautiful birds provide an endless stream of entertainment during game-viewing activities.
