HOW ARE YOU HANDLING HOLIDAYS THAT HAVE ALREADY BEEN BOOKED?
We are in direct contact with each client who has booked or postponed a holiday. As each holiday is individually created, the circumstances pertaining to each are unique. We are continually reviewing the situation in each country, including official travel advice and local regulations which will apply to each part of the holiday. You can read more about our approach here
ARE YOU AWARE OF THE SAFETY SITUATION IN THE COUNTRIES WHERE YOU OPERATE?
We have 30 years’ experience arranging top quality travel and have superb local partners. We are in contact with these partners worldwide to understand the situation in each locality and the safety precautions that are in place for every point in a clients’ journey. We will check and communicate these to each client in the weeks leading up to their departure and will continue to monitor the situation while they are travelling.
HOW ARE LODGES AND HOTELS HANDLING THE PANDEMIC?
We have been impressed by the thorough professionalism of the measures that our partners have implemented. We are seeing comprehensive safety precautions and staff training being put in place at all lodges, hotels and airports that we regularly use.
CAN YOU FACILIATE PCR TESTING IN AFRICA?
Despite the reassuringly remote locations you visit on a safari holiday, generally it is straightforward and cost effective to facilitate any mandatory PCR testing. International tourism is a vital part of the economy for the countries in which we work and therefore an ability to facilitate quick, internationally recognised and cost effective PCR testing has been an important part of their reopening. We will inform you of the requirements for your travel destination and will liaise with our partners on the ground to make all necessary arrangements.
WILL I BE ABLE TO TRAVEL TO AFRICA IN 2021?
Thankfully in almost all circumstances the answer to this question will now be ‘yes’. Our team are kept up to date with the latest developments in the UK, the USA and Europe, as well as our travel destinations, so please do get in touch if you are considering travel this year and we will be able to advise you based on your unique parameters.
IS IT TOO EARLY TO BOOK A SAFARI FOR 2022 AND BEYOND?
Definitely not. The majority of safaris we are arranging at the moment are for travel in 2022 and 2023. The information from our partners indicates that this trend is industry wide. Add in the holidays that have been postponed from the last 18 months and you can see how demand will exceed the limited supply of high quality, remote safari lodges.
