Fraser Gear — naturalist, guide and explorer — has spent the last 28 years leading wildlife, photographic and birding expeditions across the length and breadth of Africa, the Middle East, Asia and into the neo-tropics.
Even as a child, Fraser knew that his destiny was to work in the midst of our world’s wild places. His career began in South Africa’s Kruger National Park, where his love of nature intensified and he learned the innumerable skills necessary to become a safari guide.
A passionate birder, tracker, botanist and wildlife enthusiast, Fraser has a great love of the planet’s wildest places and the adventure that comes with exploring these regions. He is at his happiest when in the thick of things on foot in the African savannah, on a remote sea kayak expedition, or deep in a steamy jungle seeking out avian wonders. A sensitive and caring leader, a wonderful teacher with a passion for nature, a wicked sense of humour, a repertoire of incredible tales and a sharp intellect combine to make Fraser the perfect person to lead the final leg of our Zambezi Expedition.
