Victoria Falls

Victoria Falls is where the Zambezi pitches itself over a precipice and tumbles into a mile-wide chasm, exploding into a cloud of a thousand million droplets that refract the sunlight into a staggering diffuse spectrum. As you stand there at the height of the flood you’ll feel the vibrations through your feet, the thunder in your ears and taste the spray on your lips. A total sensory experience!
Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana and Namibia meet here, so we can easily include a few days near the magnificent falls in your tailormade itinerary. If you stay just one or two days, the five-star Royal Livingstone on the Zambian side, or that grand old lady the Victoria Falls Hotel on the Zimbabwe side are ideal, within strolling distance. For longer stays we can arrange for you to stay in a smaller river lodge upstream. The Zambezi moves purposefully past gems like Sussi & Chuma or Tongabezi with its magnificent “houses” and Islands of Siankaba which all take 16 to 24 guests. These luxurious river lodges are the ideal place to relax before or after your safari. They make a good alternative to a beach stay and are easier to reach.
You can still be as active as you like, enjoying white water rafting, a little rail journey beside the Zambezi, sunset cruises and trips to see the famous Chobe elephants. For an eagle’s eye view of the falls we can arrange anything from a swooping light aircraft to a buzzing microlight, when can feel the updraft from the towering spray cloud.
