Conservation
Royal Chundu work only with suppliers who promote and support local conservation efforts. In addition to this, they ensure sustainable fishing measures are adhered to by purchasing fish, fresh from the Zambezi River, from local fishermen who often come to the banks of the river in their mokoros to show off the mornings catch.
Environment
All food is sourced locally and is often home grown, either in the lodge’s own herb and vegetable garden, or from their chicken coop. They also support a seed project that provides seeds to local villages and once ready to harvest, Royal Chundu purchase the goods back at market price to use in their kitchen.
Community
Royal Chundu operate The Royal Chundu Foundation School, initially founded primarily for the children of their staff. Since its creation, children from neighbouring villages have joined, taking the number of school children from 10 to 50. Royal Chundu offer guests the opportunity to ‘Buy a Brick’ to help with their plans to expand the school facilities and they aim to be able to educate 500 children.
