Location
You’ll find La Cigale on the island of Praslin, a destination so pristinely beautiful that it’s often referred to as the Garden of Eden. The property is set within, and perfectly camouflaged by, coconut palms on the edge of Cote d’Or, a 2km long beach.
Accommodation
The estate comprises five grand en-suite bedrooms, each with views over the sparkling Indian Ocean or the tropical gardens, and a further four garden villas for larger groups. Inside, the estate feels refined but relaxed, with high ceilings, sumptuous soft furnishings and floor-to-ceiling windows that flood your room with golden Seychellois sunlight. Bathrooms are spacious with standalone tubs and rain showers.
Elsewhere on the estate you’ll find a fully-equipped gym, wine cellar, a tennis court, and a home cinema. A large garden at the rear of the property is home to a pool where you can take a dip to cool off and enjoy a refreshing drink. You’ll also access the beach from here, walking through an archway of leaves to be greeted by its powder soft sands.
Elsewhere on the estate you’ll find a fully-equipped gym, wine cellar, a tennis court, and a home cinema. A large garden at the rear of the property is home to a pool where you can take a dip to cool off and enjoy a refreshing drink. You’ll also access the beach from here, walking through an archway of leaves to be greeted by its powder soft sands.
Meals are created for you by a world-class private chef and his culinary team. Menus aren’t planned ahead, rather they’re inspired by your own personal tastes and preferences and prepared with locally-sourced ingredients. If you’re keen to try local cuisine, the chef can rustle up delicious Seychellois dishes. If you like seafood and shellfish, be sure to try some here - it’s fantastically fresh and supplied daily by local fishermen. The estate grows several fruits, including breadfruit - a popular local snack - and sources spice from nearby plantations. Food is served at various, equally beautiful, locations around the estate, gardens and on the sands of the immaculate beaches.
Experiences
- The Seychelles are renowned for excellent snorkelling and scuba diving. The warm waters here are home to a wide range of marine life including coral, turtle, ray and shoals of brightly coloured fish.
- While away the hours, or even days, luxuriating on the beach. Soft sands underfoot and the glistening Indian Ocean laid out before you, this is a place where you can truly unwind.
- Take a privately guided nature walk in the Vallée de Mai, one of only two places in the world where you’ll find the truly gigantic leaves of the coco de mer palm. This is also a prime spot for wildlife with many bird, including the rare black parrot, reptile and amphibian species present.
- Water activities here are excellent, with paddle-boarding, kayaking and body-boarding on offer - all wonderfully fun ways to explore the ocean together.
- Set sail on a relaxing boat cruise, or take a boat out to discover different islands and their varying cultures.
