This is also an excellent region for birding with 430 species recorded, including twenty endemic species. As well as game drives guests may like to take to the river in a mokoro (dugout canoe) an activity that is largely restricted to Botswana’s Okavango Delta or head out on foot with a guide on a fascinating nature walk.
Facing out across the Kavango River, one of three feeding this wetland paradise the lodge has just 10 en-suite tents and chalets ensuring that the idyllic scenery can be enjoyed in relative privacy, watching from the deck at the lodge as the sun sets over your surroundings is a magical experience.
Delicious cuisine is enjoyed in the main ‘lapa’ area at the lodge and there is also a swimming pool in the grounds as well as a beautiful garden. Activities from Nunda include game drives in the Mahango Game Park, which for a small park is very rich in wildlife, including elephant, buffalo, hippo, and a variety of plains game as well as lion, leopard and Wild Dog.
