Onguma Tented Camp

In the local Herero language, Onguma means, "the place you don't want to leave." Having stayed here, we can say without question that you’re sure to agree. Onguma Tented Camp is a mixture of sophistication and relaxation. The seven tents are luxuriously appointed, with crisp, white linen, goose feather duvets and en suites featuring a romantic stone bathtub and a natural outdoor shower. The styling of the tents is best described as “safari chic”.

There is an unmistakably exclusive feel to Onguma Tented Camp, an ambience that exudes a very romantic and enchanting vision of Namibia. When you are not out on game drives, you can relax at the camp watching the animals come and go around the water hole on your patio or while taking a dip in the swimming pool.
You can embark on two game drives a day at Onguma: the morning drive is in the Etosha National Park; and the evening drive (which includes a fabulous sundowner) is in the Onguma Reserve.

Passionate wildlife watchers will love spending time in the hide by the watering hole and birders can expect to spot as many as 300 different resident and migratory avian species.

Conservation
Conservation
Onguma funds a successful anti-poaching unit which helps protect all species that reside within the private nature reserve but notably the endangered rhinos. Since their establishment, there has been a dramatic decrease in poaching instances.
Community
Community
Onguma have worked hard to create jobs on a large scale for the local Oshivelo community and their ambition turned into the 500-hectare Oshivelo Farming project. Today the project represents one of the top five vegetable producers in the whole of Namibia.
