Accommodation
There are five comfortable and tastefully decorated rooms, two in the Country Inn and three in the Family Suite. The family suite boasts sunset views and has its own private garden, relaxing area and a magical outside bath. Adjacent is the self-contained Guest Cottage which has two large rooms, a living room, kitchen and shared terrace which leads to the refreshing pool. Onsea House provides exclusivity and privacy. Each room has a serene colonial feel and is beautifully furnished with a luxurious four-poster bed (or twin) elegantly draped in mosquito netting. All have their own en-suite bathrooms with a bath and shower. The terraces offer a breath of fresh air after writing in your journal on your wooden desk.

Onsea House’s company policy details that the retreat works with locally hired staff who benefit from lots of extras, such as healthcare, child education and rent, supporting the local community at large. They also train staff in more than just ‘getting the job done’ and make an effort in supporting local schools in extra-curricular in-house training.

The Watoto Foundation supports boys living on the streets in and around Arusha. Onsea House are enthusiastic supporters of their “Child in the Sky” centre that provides young boys with a safe living environment where they can play, study and learn a profession to enable them to take care of themselves once they leave the centre. They have a carpentry workshop in which some of the retreat’s furniture has been made and all eggs used in the kitchen come from their free-range chickens.
