Location
Singita sits on a sprawling location in the foothills of the Sabyinyo, Gahinga and Muhabura Volcanoes.
The outlook is initially over wetlands and plains, often frequented by forest buffalo, before your eye reaches the looming slopes of these dramatic, afro-alpine forest covered peaks.

Guests are also invited to watch their food being prepared and even dine at the chef’s table in the interactive kitchen, with chef only too happy to explain how the food is prepared, its provenance and its inspiration.

Experiences
Take a guided trip to the gorilla tracking base where you will be briefed by your guides before setting off into the hills to track these truly amazing animals.
You will have opportunities to enjoy other activities around the lodge or further afield. The rich rainforest has hundreds of species of birds, large troops of colobus monkeys and rare golden monkeys and other primates. Some people decide to head off with a guide in the search of the golden monkey, of which the only viable populations are thought to exist in this little corner of Rwanda.
Other options include a trek to Dian Fossey’s grave and the gorilla cemetery, the final resting place of her favourite gorilla, Digit. Worthwhile also is a visit to The Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund, a centre for gorilla conservation and scientific research where guests can learn all about Dian’s fascinating story, the current conservation initiatives in place and the challenges they face.
