Location

You’ll find Sky Lodge on the side of a mountain in the Sacred Valley located just one hour outside the city of Cuzco. Beneath you is the Urubamba River, flanked by the slopes of the valley.

Accommodation

The accommodation is the star of the show at Sky Lodge. Your room is a capsule made from aerospace aluminium and weather resistant polycarbonate, meaning you’ll have unrivalled views of the valley all around you. You’ll have four beds, each layered with heavy blankets and plump pillows that keep you cosy and warm as night falls, plus a sink and eco toilet.

Accompanied by your guide you’ll make the ascent, climbing for around 90 minutes, up 900 steps and crossing a small swinging bridge along the way, to reach the pods. Relax and refuel with a hearty dinner together before heading to your own pod for the night.

As you move around from pod to pod, you’ll need to clip and unclip your harness, climbing into each one through a ceiling hatch and down a small ladder. The sense of adventure and excitement here is palpable as you move across the mountainside. Your pod has a small deck above which is the perfect spot for capturing photos of the Milky Way once darkness falls, and the spectacular vistas of the Sacred Valley in the daylight. Before you go to sleep, staff bring you a flask of water and locally made tea bags so you can enjoy a hot cup of tea from your bed, snug under the heavy blankets and gazing at the stars.

In the morning, throw open the windows, let in the fresh air and look out over the valley, its fields and river flowing far beneath you. After breakfast it’s time to get the adrenalin pumping once again as you zig zag your way back down the mountainside on ziplines that take you to the valley floor.
