Best Time To Go

To do justice to the rich array of places and experiences in these three countries requires time. Of course, you could just take some elements of our itinerary or even extend it.

Discover South America’s rich cultures, landscapes
and wildlife.
It may seem ambitious to capture the full flavour of somewhere as diverse as Latin America, but there’s no better start than with a journey that seamlessly combines Peru, Colombia, and Ecuador.

We’ll curate a luxurious blend of cultural and natural experiences that includes the iconic highlights of Machu Picchu and the Galapagos Islands, alongside hidden gems such as the Andean Cloud Forest – crafted entirely around your interests.

Lima
Blending colonial charm with modern energy, Peru’s capital sits on the country’s Pacific coast. With a UNESCO-listed historic centre, it combines bustling markets and plazas with world-class museums, sophisticated neighbourhoods atop stunning coastal cliffs, and excellent fine dining. Nothing beats a private tour of the city’s art and architecture with a local historian.

Where to stay: Located in Barranco, Lima’s most trendy and walkable district, Hotel B is ideally suited for discovering galleries, museums, cafes and churches.
Days 3 - 6
Amazon
There’s no better way to venture into the lush Amazon than to drift along tranquil, mirrored waterways aboard a luxury boat. In Peru’s Pacaya-Samiria National Reserve, excursions along tributaries and walks in the company of expert guides will put you in a realm of towering trees draped in epiphytes and the occasional sloth.

Where to stay: Choose from our handpicked selection of luxury Amazon cruise vessels, including the brand-new Pure Amazon.
Days 7 - 11
Cusco, Sacred Valley & Machu Picchu
Mysterious Machu Picchu is just one of many phenomenal archaeological sites, including the great fortress of Ollantaytambo, nestled in the Sacred Valley just north of ancient Cusco. As you explore, your expert guide will offer rich historical and geological insights. To truly connect with traditional life, we recommend spending time with the women of the Awamaki weaving community, one of our trusted partners.

Where to stay: In Cusco, Inkaterra La Casona is right amid the cobbled streets. For a luxury lodge with a charitable heart in the Sacred Valley, the place is Sol y Luna.
Day 12
Quito
Sitting below three Andean volcanoes, Quito is the second-highest capital city in the world and has been inhabited for 8,000 years. With marvellous colonial architecture, such as the gilded La Compañía Church, it also has a modern vibrancy and an exciting culinary scene. The views of the city from El Panecillo are wonderful.

Where to stay: Located near Calle de la Ronda, Quito’s cultural heart, Casa Gangotena is a place of Art Deco opulence.
Days 13 - 14
Andean Cloud Forest
Within easy reach of Quito, the Bellavista Cloud Forest Reserve is a cool, moist montane habitat of lush forests, sprinkled liberally with majestic waterfalls. Harbouring a dazzling array of species, including 400 types of bird, it’s a place to hike and explore in the company of expert conservationists.

Where to stay: Set in splendid isolation amid 2500 acres of protected forest, stunning Mashpi Lodge is shared between visitors and researchers who gladly impart their knowledge.
Days 15 - 18
Galapagos
Boasting some of the highest levels of endemic species on the planet, the Galapagos Archipelago is a living laboratory of island evolution, as famously first described by Charles Darwin. There’s simply no other place that can rival the Galapagos Islands for unique wildlife encounters, including giant tortoises and marine iguanas, in phenomenal and pristine settings.

Where to stay: 2025 sees the launch of Hermes Catamaran, a sleek, spacious luxury vessel with just 12 suites, each with private balconies.
Days 19 - 21
Bogota
Sitting high in the Andes foothills, cosmopolitan Bogota has a spring-like climate and stunning mountain scenery. Known for its fine (and fun) dining and exciting art scene, Bogota is best discovered with a local expert, perhaps even on bikes. It’s also a place for strolls around colonial La Candelaria, upmarket Zona Rosa, and dozens of enriching museums dedicated to art treasures.

Where to stay: Complete with top-hatted welcome, impeccable Sofitel Victoria Regia is the most elegant of Bogota’s hotels.
Days 22 - 24
Tayrona National Park
Stretching from the Caribbean Sea to the Santa Marta mountains, Tayrona National Park is a paradise of stunning beaches and biodiverse rainforests. Still home to an indigenous linen-clad Kogi community, this protected area has 300 bird species and is one of the world’s last refuges of the cotton-top tamarin monkey.

Where to stay: Hiking, exploring, snorkelling, surfing, river tubing – or just relaxing – are what’s on offer from the beachfront location of Casa Tayrona Los Naranjos.
