Experiences
The specialist guides take guests to the very site of Rorke’s Drift and Isandlwana battles, and they give thrilling and quite emotional accounts of the course of the battles and the personalities involved bringing the events to life, as you stand beside the Rorke’s Drift mission house looking down towards the river and the old hill by Isandlwana in the distance.

Fugitives Drift is the perfect place for a family adventure: while parents will enjoy traditional battlefield tours, for kids there are plenty of ways to bring history to life, from gruesome accounts to the chance to hold a rifle used by the British at Rorke’s Drift.

Having established Fugitive’s Drift Lodge, the lodge’s owners: David and Nicky recognised the desperate need in the surrounding rural communities of Rorke’s Drift and Isandlwana where most families live below the poverty line. The David Rattray Foundation was established to focus on supporting and improving the education of children in the local rural communities.
