Royal Malewane supports the reserve’s anti-poaching dog unit, through their involvement as a founding member in the Greater Kruger Environmental Protection Foundation. The unit. The remarkable capabilities of the K9 unit far exceed what technology can yet deliver when it comes to the detection, apprehension, and tracking of poachers on the ground.

Since 2018, Royal Malewane has been involved with a local creche: Langutelani. A growing centre relied upon by young children and their families in the surrounding area, Royal Malewane has been involved with raising funds and adding infrastructural improvements to the creche.

Being a founding member of the Greater Kruger Environmental Protection Foundation, Royal Malewane adopts a holistic approach to the problem of rhino poaching, playing an active role in combating the illegal international trade in wildlife, in particular rhino for their horns.
