Location
The main house is reminiscent of a French country chateau and is set in the beautiful Franschhoek Valley surrounded by classic Cape Winelands scenery and overlooking a peaceful lake.
Accommodation
La Residence has just 16 spacious and elegant suites, each has sumptuous décor and wonderful views through the picture windows of the surrounding vineyards and distant mountains. The hotel is decorated and furnished in style with French antiques, Persian carpets and oil paintings, yet a friendly informal atmosphere prevails.
There is a good sized pool and tennis court and in the dining room you are treated to delicious cuisine using the finest local ingredients with Cape and Mediterranean influences. For those guests wishing to pamper themselves further, La Residence has two in-house therapists who offer a wide range of treatments which can be enjoyed in their treatment room or in the privacy of your own suite or balcony. There is also a fully equipped gym and the chefs can even design a healthy eating plan for you during your stay.

La Residence’s parent company, The Royal Portfolio supports The Cape Leopard Trust, an active predator conservation working group. It uses research as a tool for conservation, finding solutions to human-wildlife conflict and inspiring interest in the environment through an interactive and dynamic environmental education programme. By promoting peaceful coexistence and the protection of landscapes, empowered by scientific research, positive community partnerships, education and advocacy, the Cape Leopard Trust aims to ensure the long-term survival of the Cape Leopard.
Community
La Residence supports Wes-Eind Primary School, just a short drive from the property, who focus on education and the well-being of its 570 learners that range from 5 years to 13 years of age. They have 17 dedicated teachers which includes 3 cooks that make sure the children receive a plate of food every day.
