Location
Located in the North West Province of South Africa, on a rocky outcrop in the centre of the Madikwe Game Reserve, sits the Madikwe Hills Private Game Lodge.

Covering an area of 75,000 hectares Madikwe is the fifth largest game reserve in South Africa and the largest and best malaria free reserve in the entire continent. Within the reserve, massive granite inselbergs give Madikwe its unique scenic character while to the south are the spectacular ranges of the Dwarsberg Mountains.
Bedroom Suite
Accommodation
There are ten sumptuous suites, all with elegant ‘Afrochic’ furnishings, spacious en-suite bathrooms and for the winter months underfloor heating while in the summer air conditioning keeps the suites cool.

Outside, each suite has a large deck complete with a private plunge pool affording panoramic views out across the reserve and for the more adventurous a magnificent outdoor shower.
In the main area of the lodge guests have a variety of different places in which to relax between safari activities; from the comfort of the lounge to the cosy library and for those wanting a bit of extra pampering the wellness centre is the perfect place to while away an afternoon.

Cuisine at Madikwe Hills is superb and sumptuous three course evening meals are complimented by fine South African wines and served either in the elegant dining area or under a star filled sky in the boma, illuminated by candlelight.

Hearty breakfasts and delicious lunches are generally served al fresco under the cover of canvas umbrellas on the main deck at the lodge where guests can sit back and take in the beauty of their surroundings.

Community
Community
Through the establishment of Madikwe Hills, doors were opened to many local people trapped in poverty. The promise of new work and employment opportunities and attainable education for all arose. Madikwe has taken on a community upliftment project involving Lesedi Day Care Centre in Rietpan, a local village nearby that’s home to some of the staff employed at the lodge.
Environment
Environment
Amongst many initiatives, Madikwe have taken the following steps to reduce their environmental footprint without reducing the overall guest experience in any way: The installation of low energy heat pumps in all of their suites. The installation of swimming pool pumps on timers to save electricity and the replacement of all light bulbs with LED low energy ones.
Conservation
Conservation
Madikwe facilitate a rhino notching experience which can be joined by guests for a fee donated to the efforts going on in the Reserve to protect these incredible animals.
