Why the Lower Zambezi?
This park really shines between May and November, when large numbers of elephant, buffalo, zebra and kudu make their way into the valley to drink from the life-giving Zambezi River. You have a very good chance of seeing big cats in the Lower Zambezi as well, including elusive leopard and cheetah. Even the rare African wild dog can be spotted by those with a keen eye.

Admire the lovely sausage and mahogany trees – and don’t forget to check their branches for leopard – as you cruise along in an open vehicle. Better yet, hop in a canoe for a safari along the shallow waterways of the Lower Zambezi. Great for croc spotting!
  • A timeless safari experience in a riverine landscape.
  • Wide variety of wildlife including big cats and wild dogs.
  • Fabulous birdwatching including bee eaters and kingfisher.
  • Small number of exclusive lodges provide privacy.
  • Great for canoeing and walking safaris.
  • Best game viewing between May and November.

Safari in Zambia: Remote & Private

Zambia is the path less-travelled, which means that a safari here is always one with guaranteed privacy. It’s also an experience of how African exploration always used to be, with bush camps deep in game-rich territory and walking safaris led by expert guides. Authenticity can still be comfortable, so amazing food and perfectly-placed accommodation are just as Zambian as the wilderness.
