Gangtey Lodge
Also known as Phobjikha, this is the winter sanctuary for Tibetan black-necked cranes, an endangered bird honoured by a vibrant annual festival in the valley. In addition to the mindful attraction of a 17th-century gompa and abundant birdlife, the valley is crisscrossed by a network of scenic trails along which you’ll experience its serene tranquillity.
Accommodation
Communal spaces around the lodge are crafted to encourage connection and relaxation. The dining room, with its large family-style tables and outdoor terrace, offers a welcoming environment for shared meals.
Beyond dining, the monastic design of the lodge provides serene areas for reading, conversation, and contemplation, with interiors reflecting Bhutanese craftsmanship. Wellness is central to the experience, with a spa offering two treatment rooms and traditional hot stone baths infused with mineral-rich waters and healing herbs. Morning yoga sessions and guided rituals further enhance the sense of mindful retreat.
