Location

Splash Camp is situated in the heart of the Okavango Delta, within the Private Kwara Reserve which encompasses not only the open lagoons and shallow waterways of the Okavango, but also great expanses of savannah and forest leading to the Moremi Wildlife Reserve, providing a game rich and very private safari experience. It is one of the most game-rich areas in the country with permanent water coursing through vast open plains (from which the immediate area got its long-standing name of ‘splash’) and areas of thicker woodland attracting great herds of elephant, buffalo, a wide variety of antelope species, and even white rhino on occasion. Kwara is also one of the most reliable areas to sight predators in Botswana, with lion, leopard, cheetah and often wild dog all represented in good numbers.

Suites Perfect For All Families

With just twelve suites — two of which are for families — Splash Camp is intimate, with a charming ambience. The camp is tastefully designed to blend into the pristine wilderness that surrounds it and offers a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Each of the twelve private rooms are elegantly yet authentically decorated with modern furnishings and raised on wooden decks, overlooking a large pan which attracts a range of wildlife year-round. All are en-suite with a flush toilet, double sinks and both an indoor and an outdoor shower. In addition, each room has a private veranda with outdoor lounge chairs, the perfect place to sit back and unwind, taking in the beautifully wild atmosphere of the delta and the views of the plains beyond.
Splash’s main area boasts a beautiful lounge complete with a fully stocked bar, plunge pool, curio shop and a communal dining area where sumptuous meals are served as you look out over the waterhole. Just in front of camp, overlooking the pan is a traditional boma and fire pit, the ideal spot to begin your days with a light breakfast, or end them under the stars, relaxing around the fire sharing stories of the day’s events. Travelling as a larger group? We’ll book the exclusive-use Splash Enclave, which is its own satellite main area that comprises several of the suites for a private group experience.

Go Exclusive In Botswana

The best way to give your family the facilities it seeks may be to book out an entire camp or lodge. Perhaps you are planning a multi-generation safari. Or you may want to fulfil a dream of walking, mokoroing and camping out in the Okavango. You may simply crave an extra degree of privacy. Most lodges we use take fewer than 16 guests, some take only eight, so booking a whole lodge is a viable option.
