Location
Sat at the north-western end of Chief’s Island, Sanctuary Chief’s Camp is nestled amongst a towering grove of jackalberry trees that rise from the rich soils of the Okavango Delta. Situated on the edge of the Delta’s glistening waterways, you’ll get a taste of island life and enjoy unspoilt views of the floodplains.

Lion, leopard and wild dogs are far from the only animals inhabiting the area; the surrounding floodplains boast one of the highest concentrations of wildlife anywhere in Africa, making for exhilarating game drives.

Accommodation
At 1,500 ft2, the 10 luxurious bush pavilions are some of the largest suites in the area. Decorated using natural hues, materials and fabrics, each stylish dwelling features a large comfortable bed, fully stocked mini-bar and a tranquil seating area with extraordinary views across the Delta. In the bright and spacious en-suite you’ll find two washbasins, a stone-walled rain shower and an enormous free-standing bathtub, perfect for an indulgent soak after an enthralling day of game-viewing.

Step out through the floor-to-ceiling glass doors onto your expansive covered deck, which holds a secluded outdoor shower, refreshing plunge pool and three seating areas. One for private dining immersed in the sounds of nature; one with a daybed made for afternoon siestas in the sun; and another positioned to give you the ideal spot to survey the Delta.
In addition to the bush pavilions, the camp is home to the palatial Geoffrey Kent Suite. With two interconnected pavilions, a private bar, boma, lounge and kitchen, and your own private house-keeper, waiter, guide and vehicle, the suite offers an unforgettably lavish experience.

Head down the raised wooden boardwalk to the main area, home to a curio shop, lounge, bar and library where lectures and wildlife film screenings are held. There’s also a communal pool encircled by comfortable sun loungers, a well-equipped fitness centre, and a spa providing deluxe treatments to help you unwind.

Sanctuary Chief's Camp prides itself on culinary excellence. Whether you take a seat in the dining area to devour a pizza straight from the oven; dine in the privacy of your deck (the perfect setting for a romantic meal); or huddle around the roaring boma (traditional campfire) and feast beneath a sky awash with thousands of twinkling stars, you’re in for a treat.

    Go Exclusive In Botswana

The best way to give your family the facilities it seeks may be to book out an entire camp or lodge. Perhaps you are planning a multi-generation safari. Or you may want to fulfil a dream of walking, mokoroing and camping out in the Okavango. You may simply crave an extra degree of privacy. Most lodges we use take fewer than 16 guests, some take only eight, so booking a whole lodge is a viable option.
