Moremi

From dry savannah to delta wetlands, the Moremi Game Reserve is a wildlife oasis. Created in 1963 to protect wild animals from hunters, Moremi’s expanse includes one-third of the eastern Okavango Delta. From dry savannah to delta wetlands, the Moremi Game Reserve is a wildlife oasis. Why the Moremi?
Hundreds of species of birds and mammals thrive here in safety. You can watch as herds of elephants wade through waterways, trunks held aloft like snorkels where the water level rises. See crocodiles bask in the sun, unbothered as red lechwe splash through tall grasses with their lilting gait. Hear the tuba-like grunts of hippos as they submerge themselves in deep lagoons. Moremi is also home to the classic Big Five, with lions, leopards and regal buffalo moving through the landscape. If you’re lucky, you might spot a pack of endangered African wild dogs.

Located in one of the most accessible corners of the Okavango, Moremi Game Reserve has a number of exclusive lodges. If you’re game to sleep among the game, Moremi is the perfect place to try a mobile camping safari.
  • The longest-running protected wildlife reserve in the Okavango Delta.
  • A rich variety of habitats including wetlands, forest and savannah.
  • Large numbers of elephant, antelope and leopard year-round.
  • Endangered species like wild dog and rhinoceros are also present.
  • Choice between exclusive safari lodges or mobile camping.
  • Suitable for a thrilling safari any time of year.
