Elsewhere, there’s a communal mess tent and lounge leading onto a shady deck area and a campfire beyond, all places inviting relaxation, a few cool drinks, and conversations with fellow travellers. The camp has a waterhole to attract wildlife, but the pool for guests requires a bit of a trek. That seems completely apt for a camp where luxuries come with a bit of effort.

- Wildlife found within the reserve include leopard, cheetah, spotted hyena, bat-eared fox, both Burchell’s and Hartmann’s mountain zebra, giraffe, oryx, kudu, springbok, steenbok, and klipspringer.
- Take a walk or a bike ride to the camp’s swimming pool. To save getting hot again, you can radio to the lodge to be collected.
- This is the ideal location to indulge in a balloon flight. Helicopter rides or fixed-wing flights are also available nearby.
- Make use of your skybed for a sleep-out under the stars. It’s on the roof above your tent’s bathroom.
- Head to Sossusvlei and to Dune 45 for sunrise. It pays off to arrive early for the best experience of solitude.
