Okavango Delta

Botswana’s Okavango Delta is one of southern Africa’s most iconic landscapes. The elaborate waterways ebb and flow with the seasons, creating an unparalleled wildlife viewing experience any time of year. Botswana’s Okavango Delta is one of southern Africa’s most iconic landscapes. The elaborate waterways ebb and flow with the seasons, creating an unparalleled wildlife viewing experience any time of year.
Why the Okavango Delta?
The Okavango Delta, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is formed as the Okavango River ends its journey in the expansive Kalahari. As the water unfurls, shallow channels, lagoons and islands are formed, nourishing the 200 species of mammals and more than 400 species of birds that gather here.

You will quickly understand the exclusivity of the Okavango Delta – much of the region comprises private reserves, limiting visitor numbers and minimising impact to wildlife and the environment. The result is a truly private safari with luxury lodges you simply can’t find elsewhere in Africa. Drift through the reeds in a mokoro, track leopards by open vehicle, or fully immerse yourself in the wild with a walking or horseriding safari.

The Okavango Delta is a superb safari destination all year round. No two days are the same here, but you can always count on sublime beauty and unforgettable animal encounters.
  • An enchanting landscape of waterways, lagoons, plains and woodlands.
  • Over 200 species of mammals – including the Big Five.
  • More than 400 species of birds, including fish eagles and kingfishers.
  • Privacy, comfort and five-star service on exclusive reserves.
  • Scenic flights, mokoro rides and open-vehicle game drives offer varied perspectives.
  • Walking safaris, horseriding safaris and fishing opportunities allow for immersion in nature.
  • An incomparable safari experience suitable for any time of year.

Go Exclusive In Botswana

The best way to give your family the facilities it seeks may be to book out an entire camp or lodge. Perhaps you are planning a multi-generation safari. Or you may want to fulfil a dream of walking, mokoroing and camping out in the Okavango. You may simply crave an extra degree of privacy. Most lodges we use take fewer than 16 guests, some take only eight, so booking a whole lodge is a viable option.
