Six Senses Vana
Location
No stone is left unturned here; every little detail has been considered, allowing you to leave everyday life far, far behind you.
Accomodation
Set right in amongst the trees, the Forest Suites and Forest King Rooms here are our favourites. Each is spacious and has everything you’ll need to unwind, blending modern conveniences with nature and simplicity. You’ll have a large bed, with your choice of pillow, and roomy bathrooms complete with tubs perfect for sinking into for a restful soak before you fall into bed. There’s a private terrace, where you can start each morning by pausing and listening to the birdsong coming from the forest. It’s the finer details that make these rooms so special - the considered lighting, the endless wellness teas, and the bedtime reading lights will make your stay exceptionally comfortable.
Cuisine here is guided by what’s in season, what’s local and what can be sustainably sourced. You’ll enjoy relaxed help-yourself style lunches followed by an a la carte menu for dinner. Of course, health is the order of the day here and so each dish is nutritious and nourishing whilst never compromising on taste. The focus is on pure and uncomplicated flavours and fragrances complemented by remarkably beautiful presentation. If you want to learn more about the methods and ingredients used, we can arrange your own cookery workshop.
The retreat itself is expansive, with a multitude of areas to explore and enjoy. Head to the yoga studios to practice before refreshing with a fresh juice and taking a slow stroll around the reflection garden. There are also areas for wellness treatments, Tibetan medicine, and other natural therapies, alongside badminton courts, tennis courts and a fitness centre. Regardless of its size, the retreat remains a meditative oasis and the atmosphere never strays from the calm and tranquillity that you experience when you first arrive.
Experiences
- Feel the pressures of day-to-day life float away as you explore the area’s beautiful forests and valleys, heading high up to hilltop viewpoints, on a guided stress relief hike.
- Try natural healing therapies, Ayurvedic medicine and Tibetan treatments including herbal baths, lymphatic drainage massages, and soft tissue manipulation (the retreat’s wellness experts will guide you in choosing the right ones for you).
- Sample exotic infusions at the retreat’s tea bar, where traditional healing remedies are created by brewing ingredients - including lavender, chamomile and cinnamon - grown in the organic garden.
- Watsu therapy, which takes place in the dedicated pool where the water carries the vibrations of the singing bowls, leaves you feeling weightless and is a favourite massage amongst guests.
- If you want to experience more of the local area and culture, you can leave the retreat to watch the Ganga Aarti, a fire offering on the Ganges, or visit the nearby town of Rishikesh, known as the world’s yoga capital.
